Who Can Register with Funders Online?

Please read carefully the following overview of the types of organisations that are eligible to register with Funders Online. If your organisation does not meet these eligibility criteria, your request will be rejected.

You can register your website with Funders Online if your organisation is:

  • a grant-making European foundation
  • an operational European foundation
  • a charitable trust
  • a corporate foundation or corporate giving programme
  • a community foundation
  • a global funder which operates European funding programmes and initiatives.

What is a foundation?
A foundation:

  • is a separately-constituted non-profit body with its own dependable source of income, usually but not exclusively from and endowment or capital
  • has its own governing board
  • uses its financial resources for educational, cultural, religious, research, social or other public benefit purposes either by making grants to citizen associations or operating its own programmes and projects.

Note: Grant-seeking organisations are in general not eligible for inclusion. Exception is made for certain types of fund-raising foundations, such as community foundations, that distribute financial resources in the form of grants to organisations or individuals in their community.

Please note that Funders Online retains the right to determine which organisations are appropriate for inclusion.

If you are a grantseeking organisation, go to Non-Profit Internet Service Providers to find out where you can register your website or get support in developing one.
